Pedestrian killed when hit by a car in North Fort Myers Sunday

NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Troopers say a North Fort Myers man was fatally hit by a car Sunday afternoon on Tamiami Tail.

It happened around 2 p.m. Sunday on Tamiami Trail at Crescent Lake Drive.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, 64-year-old John Condenzio was crossing Tamiami Trail when he was struck by a southbound Camry.

Condenzio was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Troopers say the crash was not alcohol-related. It remains under investigation.

This was the 2nd pedestrian fatality in Lee County on Sunday. Early Sunday morning, a man was hit and killed by a minivan on State Road 80 in Fort Myers.
