LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Troopers say a man was hit and killed by a minivan while walking on State Road 80 early Sunday morning.
The 23-year-old victim, whose name has bot been released yet, was in the westbound lanes of State Road 80 near Morse Plaza, just west of Interstate 75, around 3 a.m. Sunday.
That's when a westbound minivan, driven by a 54-year-old Lehigh Acres man, hit the man and stopped at the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No charges have been filed, but the crash remains under investigation.
