FORT MYERS, Fla. — One woman was arrested after hitting a bicyclist and fleeing the scene in Fort Myers on Saturday.

Police responded to Evans Avenue and Linhart Avenue for a vehicular hit-and-run involving a bicyclist.

Witnesses described the car as a dark blue or brown Chevrolet Malibu.

According to police, a train conductor called to report an abandoned brown Chevrolet Malibu at the dead end of the Canal Street by the railroad tracks.

Officers located the vehicle with damage consistent to the hit-and-run accident.

While officers were on scene, several people arrived to retrieve the Malibu, according to police.

The female bicyclist was transported to the hospital as a trauma alert.

Police interviewed all subjects and subsequently arrested Shaquilla Jordan, 29, for leaving the scene of a crash with injury.
