NORTH PORT, Fla. -- Police are investigating a fatal single-car crash involving minors in an undeveloped section of North Port overnight.
According to North Port Police, officers responded to the area of Yorkshire Street and Cassava Road around 2:30 a.m. Thursday. That's where they found a car that had left the roadway and hit a tree.
There were four occupants in the car at the time, aged 13-17. One 17-year-old died from injuries in the crash. The other three were transported to the hospital.
Police later determined the car was reported stolen in Port Charlotte.
The North Port Police Department's Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating this crash and working on additional details.
