North Port Police: Sexual battery suspect located in West Virginia

UPDATE (12/30) -- North Port Police report that McKenzie has been arrested in West Virginia and will be returned to Sarasota County to face charges of Sexual Battery and Battery on someone 65 years and older.

He is also facing charges in West Virginia of Possession of a controlled substance, False info to law enforcement, Carrying a concealed weapon by a convicted felon, and Conspiracy.

The North Port Police Department and the Sarasota County Sheriffs Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit needs help locating a suspect for sexual battery that took place on December 8th along US. 41.

Robert McKenzie, 28 has been living outside City limits In unincorporated Sarasota County in the Warm Mineral Springs area and has most likely fled the area.

Please call Special Deputy United States Marshal Brian Barrett if you have any info at 941-915-7878. There is up to a $1000 reward for a tip leading to his arrest.
