FORT MYERS, Fla. — A North Fort Myers man living without HVAC for over a decade was surprised with new air conditioning.
Lee BIA Builders Care and community partners came together to surprise a North Fort Myers homeowner with the gift of a new air conditioning system.
Jon Smith is an elderly and disabled homeowner who has lived alone in his home for over 15 years. The lack of air conditioning has presented a critical risk to his health, as it has slowed the recovery of a leg injury and has caused heat exhaustion on several occasions. Unfortunately, his fixed income and medical expenses did not allow him to afford a new system.
To help Smith live more comfortably, Lee BIA Builders Care partnered with St. Clair's Custom Air, Ferguson HVAC, and RUUD to replace the air conditioning unit. The new system was installed at no cost to the homeowner.
"A working air conditioning system makes all the difference in being able to live comfortably in the Florida heat, and it's something we often take for granted," We're grateful for the generosity of our community partners to present this homeowner with a gift that will significantly impact his health, safety, and overall well-being."
