If someone wants to see how close they are to a flu outbreak, there's now an app for that. The app is called sickweather. Founder and CEO Dodge Graham started rolling the app earlier in the year. He's hoping it will become a useful tool for patients and the people who treat them.
"It occurred to me, you know, if we could issue alerts when people entered certain areas when there was an outbreak in real time, then maybe they could do something about it", Graham told Four in your corner.
Graham came up with the idea for the app when he got sick and wasn't able to get any information about other people in the area with symptoms. The app draws information from social media to report illnesses in real time.
