COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — The Naples Police Department needs the public’s help identifying a deceased individual whose skeletonized remains were in a mangrove estuary.

The remains were found along the east side of the Gordon River at 1400 block of 5th Avenue South.

The subject is male, Hispanic/Guatemalan, and 35 years of age, or older.

According to detectives, the male had four front teeth missing and suffered from an abscessed molar.

He also had healed fractures of the face and nose. The male had a prior gunshot wound to the rib and spinal area, which was medically treated and not a factor in the subject’s death.

Additionally, a thin, gold, Figaro necklace with a round, gold and white stone charm with the word “FAITH” and an olive branch, pictured above, was located around the subject’s neck.

A peace dove is also depicted out of white stones on the charm.

The male had been deceased for no more than one year upon being found.

If anyone has information on the identification of this individual, please contact Detective Noe at (239) 213-4828.
