A Naples man was arrested for allegedly breaking into multiple vehicles and hijacking a car, the Collier County Sheriff's Office said in a report.
Deputies responded to the area of Linwood Ave after reports of multiple car burglaries.
As deputies were en route to the scene, they noticed a car driving away at a high rate of speed on Connecticut Ave, which is just one street over from where the burglary took place, CCSO said in a report.
Deputies were able to stop the vehicle driven by 34-year-old John Adams of Naples.
After contacting the registered over of the car it was learned that the vehicle was stolen from a mechanic shop on Tamiami Trail E.
Deputies also located tools, a backpack, money and other items in the car which the owner of the stolen vehicle confirmed were not his.
Security footage obtained at the mechanic shop shows Adams stealing the car earlier that morning. Additional footage obtained from a neighbor on Linwood Ave also shows Adams burglarizing vehicles.
He was arrested and charged with Burglary and Grand Theft.
