FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Fort Myers Police Department says multiple streets will shut down for the Edison Festival Junior Fun Run and Children's Parade on Sunday. The first streets to close will include West First Street and First Street between Heitman and Lee Street for the Fun Run.
First Street from Heitman to Lee Street and sections of Monroe Street, Second Street, Lee, and Hendry Street will be closed for the Junior Parade. There will be no parking allowed along those streets. Police say the parking garages will be open for parking.
Any cars parking on the street will be towed. The festival is expected to end at 5 p.m. Police are advising drivers to expect delays and congestion. Cars parked in the garage or inside the parade route will not be able to leave once the parade starts at 2:30 p.m.
