Smiles and tears of joy filled the Collier County Courthouse today as one judge made dozens of dreams come true by sending ten children home with their new families, this time for good. One of those children was Angel Rodriguez.
His mother Christine decided to adopt him after his biological mother passed away and his father was deported. Christine says that she is happy that the long process that led to adopting Angel is done and that she can finally call him hers, officially.
"We're really happy that it's finally over and he's ours", she told Fox 4.
Another happy parent is Derek Lipshutz who adopted two girls girls along with his wife. For him and his wife, the connection to his daughters was almost immediate. They're happy that the long road to adopting them is over.
He told Fox 4, "It wasn't really a question of if we were gonna' do it. It was more a question of when it was gonna' be finalized."
For his daughters, the adoption means getting more siblings, two brothers to be specific. She's says she's ready and excited to have them.
