LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Over the weekend, more benches were built and distributed to school bus stops throughout Lee County.
"Benches For Our Babes" volunteers say they just want to make bus stops safer after 8-year-old Layla Aiken was killed in a hit and run crash at a bus stop in Cape Coral.
So far around 300 benches have been distributed with more than 100 of those in Cape Coral. And some stops even have two.
50 of those benches have been placed in Fort Myers.
