A Southwest Florida father turned to Fox 4 with his concerns, after spotting mold covering equipment at a playground in South Lee County. He sent us photos as proof, and said he refuses to take his son there anymore.
When Fox 4 went to the playground at Estero Community Park on Thursday, the mold was visible on numerous parts of the playscapes. It was covering railings and other areas where children could easily come into contact with it.
"I hadn't noticed it until now," said Nicole Molano, who has been bringing her kids to the park for the ast couple of months. "I'm not overly concerned about it yet."
Fox 4 emailed Lee County spokeswoman Betsy Clayton, who replied that she would contact the appropriate Parks personnel to take care of the mold.
