CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A student was arrested Wednesday at Mariner High School after an electric 'taser'-like weapon was found in his possession.

The 16-year-old is charged with Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds.

According to Cape Coral Police, the assistant principal received an anonymous tip from several students that the teen was in possession of the weapon. He was escorted to an office where the electric weapon was located, which was designed to resemble a flashlight, inside his front left pants pocket.

There were no reports of the weapon being used on campus.

The teen was transferred to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
