FORT MYERS, Fla. — Fort Myers Police says a man fled and jumped into a canal yesterday in a North Fort Myers neighborhood after a traffic stop.
FMPD says they were conducting a traffic stop at approximately 8:30 pm yesterday in the area of Victoria Drive in North Fort Myers.
That’s when the male subject they attempted to stop, fled into a canal.
After searching for a short period Officers called off the search.
The subject is known to officers and charges may be pending according to an Official with FMPD.
