CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A Cape Coral man was found guilty with one count of Traveling to Meet a Minor for Sexual Activity.
Carlos Canela, 44 was one of the suspects arrested in Operation Picket Fence.
The operation found people seeking to solicit children for sex online.
The Lee County Sheriffs Office led the operation.
Canela made contact with who he thought was a boy on a dating app.
Despite Canela knowing the boy was “underage,” he still sent photos of himself.
Canela was given an address to meet the child, and he was arrested when he arrived.
His sentencing is set for September 23rd.
