MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — A man has died following a crash on U.S. 41 early Saturday morning.
Police said he was headed northbound on U.S. 41 around 1:40 a.m. Saturday, approaching the intersection of Interstate 275, when a dump truck was headed northbound at the I-275 intersection. Police said the man failed to slow down and hit the back of the dump truck.
His vehicle came to a stop on the travel lanes of U.S. 41 and became engulfed in flames. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police have not identified him yet and the crash is still under investigation.
