CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A SW Cape Coral man was trauma alerted to the hospital Wednesday morning after being partially crushed by his SUV in his garage.
It happened at a home in the 3300 block of SW 25th Court in Cape Coral.
According to police, the 74-year-old victim was driving the SUV and began to back out of the garage, but then pulled back into the garage. The victim is believed to have started to exit the vehicle, but had placed it in reverse instead of park. As he got out of the SUV, it began rolling backward, causing the door to push the victim into the edge of the garage door frame.
The man sustained life-threatening injuries in the incident, and was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital.
Police are investigating the crash.
