Beauty is a way of life for local makeup artist Rosalind Vicenty. She's done makeup for proms, weddings, and parties all over the area. Like any other makeup artist, she has dreams of seeing her work in a glossy magazine spread.
"I have these dreams. I have aspirations. I wanna do print and runway and I want to be in Vogue and Elle and InStyle", she said.
When she got an email from an editor for a major fashion magazine, she thought she finally got a big break.
"I got this email from someone claiming to Dianna Mazzone from InStyle Magazine."
The email came on Wednesday. She emailed back and forth for a few days with the person. She quickly realized that something wasn't right. The person on the other end of the line told her she had to buy a special makeup palette. The cost was $2000 total.
Rosalind turned to her colleagues for advice and they all confirmed what she already knew. For now, she's just hoping that by spreading the word, she'll keep other people from being scammed.
