LEE COUNTY, Fla. — There might not be a ban on alcohol sales here in Southwest Florida, yet, but local business owners are preparing after Lee County declared a local state of emergency.

"To shut me down for a couple days, could cost me a lot of money," said Phillip Everhart, the owner of Last Chance Liquors in Fort Myers.

When Hurricane Irma came through in 2017, Cape Coral and Sanibel put a temporary ban on alchohol sales.

The owner of Millennial Brewing Company in Fort Myers said they're using this hurricane as a way to give back to the community.

"We have this amazing, super expensive filtration system that takes the city water and turns it into this clean, delicious, filtered water," said Kyle Cebull.

On Sunday, they'll be giving out 1,000 gallons of water to community members who stop by. With any purchase, you can fill up and take home up to 20 gallons.

"We happen to be very lucky that we have a place that can be a huge service to the community," said Cebull.
