FORT MYERS, Fla. — Tonight is just the business boost some Southwest Florida business owners were hoping for - and not just because of the Super Bowl. this is also the weekend of the Fort Myers Art Fest so that means double the crowds.

Fox 4 spoke with local restaurant managers about the preparation that goes into one of their biggest nights of the year.

The bar manager at Downtown Social House says they have been preparing for this weekend for months.

“I’m expecting it to be packed, and we’re projected to get tons of business tonight with all the specials, ” said Collin Muench.

“We’ve been talking about this for a couple months because we knew Art Fest and the Super Bowl were going to be the same weekend, so we kinda hit a double bonus there,” said Collin Muench.

A double bonus means double the customers, and double the employees.

“We asked extra employees to come in because we know all the business with Art Fest and Super Bowl so its just going to be a great day here at SOHO and all of downtown, ” said Muench.

The general manager at Firehouse Bar and Grill said they are typically slow during the game, as people tend to go to their sister restaurant The Lodge just down the street.

He says they are currently setting up for the annual Super-Bowl watch party.

“All you can eat food, they have beer specials all day and they’re usually sold out and packed for the Super Bowl,” said Jeff Muench.

The rain over the weekend put a huge damper in sales, but today’s sun made up for it all with bartenders and waiters benefiting too.

“It’s a big day for them too they all make good money because we’re packed and busy, when its not raining but it’s good for everybody, ” said Jeff Muench.

This major weekend is just a start to the season for many local restaurant owners.

“This is typically the kickoff to season for us, so this weekend till mothers day, we’re busy,” said Jeff Muench.
