LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Detectives say several loaded guns were found in a Lehigh Acres home after an hour-long standoff.

The standoff ended with the arrest of 26-year-old Hernan Ortiz.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the 4300 block of 4th Street SW in Lehigh Acres Thursday afternoon when a man said his roommate, Ortiz, had tried to harm himself, then made threat against the victim.

Ortiz then went into his home and threatened to shoot any deputies that approached.

The Hostage Negotiations Team worked to get Ortiz to come out for several hours until he finally came out at 6:43 p.m.

Inside the residence, deputies recovered a loaded 12 gauge shotgun along with a loaded Glock 40 pistol and three loaded magazines.

Ortiz is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (without intent to kill); Battery and Resisting an Officer without violence.
