LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Lee Health is asking for donations of Type O-Negative and Type O-Positive blood due to a severe shortage of local supplies.
They report that their current supplies are 25% below their minimum.
To learn how and where to donate, please visit http://www.leehealth.org/bloodcenter/index.asp.
Because it can be used for anyone, Type O is routinely in short supply and in high demand by hospitals, like the five served by the Lee Health Blood Centers.
All blood donated stays at Lee Health and helps patients in the Southwest Florida community. They are asking for the community’s support to help make sure they have enough blood.
