Lee County Sheriff's Office Marine Auxiliary Unit aims to keep waters safe

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Keeping you safe on the water is the goal is the new Lee County Sheriff's Office Marine Auxiliary Unit.

The unit includes five volunteers who will provide extra sets of eyes on

boaters, swimmers, fisherman, and others enjoying the water.

The unit will start working 30 minutes after dawn and end its mission 30 minutes before dusk.

Members will not tow or de-water a boat but they will be able to radio for additional.
