Lee County Commissioners approved using million of dollars towards repaving and fixing roads in Lehigh Acres.

It's part of an initiative approved by the commissioners in 2016 to spend $5 million dollars a year to resurface residential roads in Lehigh.

The county will use a contractor to repave more than 60 miles of roadway including more than 300 different streets. The repaving will include homestead road which is being expanded to four lanes.

Four in your corner has pushed for answers earlier this year for those wanting the roads fixed.

Keep in mind, it's rainy season. Ponding and flooding on roadways especially ones with potholes can be dangerous. If you hit one you can potentially flood your engine or pop a tire so its best to just avoid them.

At this time, there is no word yet on when they will begin repaving or when it will be expected completed.
