LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- People living in Lee County may have noticed an odd taste or smell to their water. Don't worry, it's not harmful.
This month Lee County utilities is doing a chlorine flush, which is part of a disinfection process.
It started on May 1st, and is scheduled to end on Tuesday, May 21st.
Until then, if you use a kidney dialysis machine, you should contact your doctor for filters.
Although the conversion of disinfection begins on May 21, it will take about one week for the service area to be converted from a free chlorine residual to chloramines.
Customers can contact the Lee County Utilities office from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays at 239-533-8845 with any questions.
