LCSO employee suspended after posting 'inappropriate and unacceptable' comments

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Lee County Sheriff's Office says it has completed an investigation into the "recent inappropriate and unacceptable comments' posted on the agency's Facebook page.

LCSO says an investigation revealed that a civilian employee who had access to the department's Facebook page admitted to posting the comments, and has expressed remorse.

According to a statement on LCSO's Facebook page, the employee further stated that no other employee or supervisor was aware he had posted the comments.

The sheriff's office says Sheriff Carmine Marceno immediately suspended the employee and re-assigned him.
