LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Authorities are reminding people to take precautions and stay prepared while boating this weekend.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit received a complaint call of a sinking vessel Saturday afternoon.
The vessel was located near the Sanibel Lighthouse, taking on water and trying to make it to the dock, according to LCSO.
Deputies say a pump from the LCSO vessel was able to remove most of the water and keep it afloat long enough for the owner to make it to the beach.
