LCSO holds active shooter training for faith groups

Posted

The Lee County Sheriff's Office offers training to prepare places of worship, in case there's ever an active shooter. They had one session Wednesday at McGregor Baptist Church.

Deputies tell Four in Your Corner the trainings shouldn't scare you. The goal is to show leaders how to protect their congregation in case of emergency.

This was not the first training. LCSO recently had a large scale training at Germain Arena to prepare in case a mass shooting happens at a concert or sporting event. Deputies say they hold these types of trainings a few times a year.
