CAPE CORAL, Fla., -- The manager of The Cave Sports Bar and Lounge says he had 20 security guards and over a dozen cop cars show up after word spread suspected members of the Lake Boyz street gang came for a party on Saturday night. Now, surrounding parents are worried about an upcoming party specifically for teens.

“You can’t necessarily shelter our children from stuff like this but at the same time you don’t want to throw them out there, because ignorance isn’t necessarily bliss," said Joey McCauley, a barber at CutLeone's Barbershop right next door to the lounge. "Ignorance is dangerous.”

McCauley says after the party he worries about his ten-year-old son getting the wrong influence. He mimics many parents concerns after a Facebook video went viral announcing another party in a couple weeks would be happening with the same group of people also at the Cave.

The Cave manager says they take precaution for safety, but doesn't think people should be concerned.

"It’s a kids party, I’ll look more into it now. Now that I see there’s concern," said Gio, the manager. "We can’t close down our building on a Saturday night.”

Gio tells Fox 4 the party is set for during the day. He says if there are any problems, he will work with the police for help.

McCauley on the other hand, thinks it's the manager's responsibility for keeping the area safe.

“Figure out what's going on. You can’t just be well, I don’t know what to do and no one’s going to do anything. Somebody has to take action.”

Four boys accused of committing crimes as members of the Lake Boyz gang were found not guilty a few weeks ago. Several neighbors tell 4 in your corner they believe the party Saturday night was out of celebration of the verdict.
