Kids are learning how to cook in Southwest Florida

Posted

FORT MYERS, Fla. --- Young children are learning how to cook through the Little Chef's in training program.

The cooking school offers weekly classes for kids starting at age five and up and teaches children how to develop a life skill that they will be able to use every day through hands on experience.

"We wanted some place where kids can enjoy themselves in the kitchen without mom hovering over them and messing with them and their mess," says founder Lauren Daniels. "So we decided to start the school," says Daniels.

Children learn how to chop, blend and create health meals, while working on team building and critical thinking skills through using math, reading comprehension and communication skills.

Some of the classes provided include; competitive cooking and baking for large groups and personal classes.
