COLLIER COUNTY, Fla — The Florida Department of Health in Collier County says human cases of the West Nile virus have been confirmed in the county.
They issued a mosquito-borne illness alert for Collier County on Friday.
DOH-Collier says there is a heightened concern that additional people will become ill.
The public is advised to remain diligent in their mosquito protection efforts.
The department says to remember to "Drain and Cover" and that Drain standing water to stop mosquitos from multiplying.
