Hotel project in downtown Fort Myers celebrates topping off

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- You may have seen construction for the new Luminary Hotel in downtown Fort Myers, and they just hit a major milestone.

Thursday, they held their topping out ceremony. We were there as crews set in place the last and highest beam of the hotel.

The 12-story hotel is located on Edwards Drive in downtown Fort Myers, next to the Harborside Event Center.

We also had a chance to preview what one of their rooms will look like.

The hotel is expected to open in the fall of 2020.
