As temperatures reach the 90s across Southwest Florida, Florida High Patrol is reminding you never to leave kids or pets inside a hot car.
FHP says leaving a window cracked or the air conditioning on in the car may not be enough to prevent a tragedy. A car's temperature rises very quickly and it can still injure or kill a person or pet within minutes.
"It is extremely serious, unfortunately we have had too many tragedies in the past happen." says Lt. Greg Bueno of the FHP Public Affairs Unit.
He also says under no circumstances should a child or animal be left in a car unattended.
