FORT MYERS, Fla. - Teachers and Staff at Heights Elementary School in Fort Myers gathered Thursday morning in prayer after the tragedy that struck a high school in Parkland, Florida.
This private event took place in the cafeteria at the elementary school after a teacher posted to Facebook, letting the public know it would take place at 7:15 Thursday morning.
Although we weren't able to speak to staff at this event, Lee County School officials tell 4 in Your Corner that children's safety in schools is their number one priority right now. The district posted more information on their website to help families with what to do when tragedy likes this strikes.
