FORT MYERS, Fla. — Got any leftover canned or packaged foods from yesterday's meal? Consider donating it.
Fox 4 caught up with the Community Cooperative, who runs a food pantry, cafe and meals on wheels for lee county.
Each year they serve 28,000 people.
Leaders with the group they see an uptick in need this time of year, so anything you can donate goes a long way.
"We love folks when they bring us food items, especially non-perishable or even things from Christmas parties that haven't been used, they can absolutely donate them here and they go right into our pantries or even into our community cafe to be served right away," said Stefanie Edwards, the Director of Development and Community Outreach.
If you're interested in donating this week, the community cooperative is open six days a week for most of the year.
