CLEWISTON, FLa. — The City of Clewiston Fire Department, Clewiston Police Department, and Hendry County Emergency Management are responding to a natural gas leak at the 400 blocks of W. Sugarland Hwy (US 27) and 400 blocks of W. Pasadena Ave in Clewiston.
There are currently roadblocks at W. Circle Dr. & US27, W. Circle Dr. & W. Pasadena Ave., W. Arcade Ave. & US27 and W. Pasadena Ave. & W. Arcade Ave.
Officials are asking residents are asked to avoid the area and use caution if traveling nearby.
The natural gas leak began at 1:53 pm after a construction company hit the underground gas line during work activities.
Workers are on scene to repair the gas line.
