PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- The funeral for Khyler Edman will be held Thursday. The Port Charlotte teenager died last week while protecting his little sister when a man broke into their home.
If you would like to pay your respects, the funeral is Thursday at 4 p.m. at 1st Alliance Church on Midway Boulevard in Port Charlotte.

Last week, Khyler was killed when a man broke into their Port Charlotte home and reportedly attacked Khyler and his young sister. 27-year-old Ryan Cole was later found in the neighborhood with stab wounds and taken into custody.
Fox 4 will not be at the funeral in respect to the family's wishes for privacy.
