Fort Myers Police arrest two people on child neglect charges

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Fort Myers Police responded to an incident involving a man and a woman.

When officers arrived, they noticed deplorable living conditions within the residence.

Officers observed the residence had no electricity, feces on the floor, urine odor, bugs and cockroaches, piles of clothing on the floor, spoiled food, and no food or drinks.

There was no baby formula, no linens for the children’s beds and fecal matter surrounded the floor.

The Department of Family and Children Services was called, and the children were taken. The children were ages 1, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 12.

Police arrested Davina Dawson, 28 and Ahkeem Clark, 30.

Both were charged with 6 counts each of Felony Neglect of a Child and 6 counts of a Misdemeanor.

They were transported to the Lee County Jail.
