UPDATE --- Franklin Francois, 25, was killed Sunday morning with a bullet to his abdomen. The shooting took place on 6th avenue north with a witness on the scene.

Rubens Casseus, owner of a tax company near the crime scene, was on the phone with his wife when he saw two men walking along the street.

“Like a second later, they started shooting towards 41 and that’s the time I threw myself back inside," he said.

Casseus immediately called the police. After an officer arrived, Casseus was asked to rush towels out to help stop Francois' bleeding.

“I brought the towels to him and he put my hands right here to him (points to his heart) and tried to put pressure down and he did CPR…. One time he came up and then he was gone.”

The traumatic event left Casseus concerned for his own children and regretting he couldn't do more to help.

“I got four boys. And to see young kids, going down like this. It’s painful for the parents. And it’s like, the whole time I was thinking about my kids," he explained through tears. “He basically died in my hands... I feel I could have done more. And I wish I did.”

Officials say there is no word yet on who the shooter is. If you or someone you know has any information that could be helpful to the case, call Naples Police at 239-213-4844.
