FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Parents said they are concerned, Tuesday, because cars will not stop for their children's school bus stop on Metro Parkway, even though they are legally required to do so.

This happens on Metro Parkway, near the Westwood apartment complex. One parent was so upset, they recorded video of multiple cars speeding by their child's stopped school bus, and sent it to 4 In Your Corner, in hopes of getting action.

Tamari Tracey, who was picking up her elementary schooler, said the speeding is an every day occurrence. She fears a child will get hurt if drivers continue. "It's every morning," she said. "I lost my cousin a couple of years ago because he was on his way to school and a car just hit the life out of him. He was 14 and his life was gone in an instant. So when I see stuff like this, I just want something done about it."

Several parents tell 4 In Your Corner's reporters they would like to see police patrols near their bus stop in the morning because of the traffic violations.

We took those concerns to Fort Myers Police. They said in the video recorded, it is not clear if a school bus is present. Therefore, they could not comment on that particular incident.

They did, however, say they will send traffic patrols to the area for enforcement.
