FORT MYERS, Fla — The Robert E. Lee Bust will not go back up on its pedestal in Downtown Fort Myers.
On Monday, the city council voted 5-2 in favor of keeping the statue down.
They're deciding to work with the museum for a proposal to keep it there instead.
That proposal will then be presented to the city council and voted on once again at a later date.
The bust was initially taken down back in June.
