As Southwest Florida’s water crisis slowly clears up, water advocates insist the fight for clean water is still going strong.

Fort Myers Brewing Company spent the day raising money to donate to The Captains for Clean Water and the Harry Chapin Food Bank.

One hundred percent of the donations will go towards these two organizations, and help businesses affected by the red tide and toxic algae.

Clean water advocates urge people to support waterfront business throughout the year.

“Go out to the beaches, go out to the waterfront restaurants. Have a beer. Have lunch. If you can take your family out and spend the weekend on the islands, it would be very much appreciated,” Andrew said.

Andrew said right now his group is pushing for long term resolutions to reduce chances of another water crisis in years to come.

“There's literally people that are losing their jobs over this. So, it's important that we focus on protecting our community,” he said.
