FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.-- Firefighters with Fort Myers Beach fire department were busy overnight following an electrical fire.

It happened on San Carlos Boulevard near Hurricane Pass, shortly before 2 A.M., Tuesday, July 16th, 2019.

Firefighters say an electrical power pole caught on fire, and the bottom of the pole was burning. Firefighters had to wait for Florida Power and Light to shut off power to the pole, before the fire could be put out. Fire crews used a fire extinguisher to stop the flames. Water was then poured on the surrounding area.

No one was hurt, and no one lost power. However, an investigation is underway into what happened.
