Former Marco Island City Manager charged with battery

Posted

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. - Former Marco Island City Manager Lee Niblock has been charged with battery.

The charge was filed in Gainesville, related to a June 10 incident.

Niblock was fired March 19 after a month of paid leave. He had only been on the job for four months.

The city council chair said Niblock was fired for more than the battery charge - he was also accused of sending an email referring to the mass firing of city employees and drinking wine during job interviews.
