CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A former Southwest Florida doctor is facing some serious charges. A local CVS employee's suspicions helped put 67-year-old William Robert Burkey behind bars Monday.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office says Burkey entered a CVS Pharmacy store in January, where he asked for help in uploading pictures from his phone to a photo kiosk. The report says the employee described Burkey as "nervous" and did not want the attendant to look at his phone and photographs.

He printed and purchased the pictures, along with cocoa butter and personal lubricant.

The CVS employee reported the incident and LCSO looked into it.

Burkey returned again a few days later for more prints. Detectives confirmed the images were pre-pubescent female children.

LCSO issued a search warrant at Burkey's home, where they say they found even more photos.

Christopher Alameda is Burkey's neighbor. Fox 4 asked him what he wanted the community to know about Burkey. "He'a great man. Everybody makes mistakes," said Alameda.

But he says safety of children is important. "We gotta be looking out. Especially for the kids today."

Fox 4 looked further into Dr. Burkey. He worked for Lee Memorial Health System in the early 2000's, but, Lee Health says he resigned his admitting privileges in 2005.

His license was later revoked by the State of Florida.
