UPDATE (8:05 AM) -- Troopers say a pedestrian died Thursday night when they were hit by a car on Buckingham Road.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, it happend just before 10 p.m. Thursday.
They say 50-year-old Shannon Flanagan of Fort Myers darted across Buckingham Road into the path of a southbound pickup truck.
The truck hit Flanagan and threw him onto the shoulder. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed yet.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a deadly crash in Fort Myers Thursday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol's website, the crash happened at 2600 Buckingham Road, near Riverdale High School.
