Flags are being flown at half-staff across Southwest Florida, honoring a fallen deputy and National Police Week.

Deputy William Gentry died last week at Lee Memorial Hospital after he was shot while responding to a call. His funeral service was held Tuesday in Sebring.

Flags in Sebring flew at half-staff to honor Deputy Gentry. They also flew at half-staff in the Highlands County Courthouse, City Hall and in Tallahassee.

Across Florida, flags were lowered for Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week.
