NAPLES, Fla. — The man accused of killing a Naples senior on New Year's Day had his first court appearance Monday.
Thomas Evans was arrested back in January in Georgia. He is originally from Illinois.
He's now officially charged with the second-degree murder of 78-year-old Frances Axeley. She was found stabbed to death inside her home on Chesapeake Avenue in Naples.
According to an arrest complaint, Evans was a family-friend of Axeley's and admitted to killing her.
