Thanksgiving is approaching quickly and families are searching for the best deals around. FOX 4 went on a wild turkey hunt to find the lowest butterball prices between Publix, Target, and Walmart. After visiting all three stores, we found Walmart's butterball price to be the cheapest: 98 cents per pound.
Target and Publix had the same price for their butterball turkeys: 99 cents per pound.
Target shopper, Noreen Botcher, didn't mind paying the extra penny. She told FOX 4 she's "been going to Target for years and their stuff tastes great."
Publix customer, Elodia, says she hasn't had a chance to shop for Thanksgiving dinner yet but she believes she'll find competitive deals. "I saw many people grabbing turkeys, so I know they must have a good price" the shopper says.
Not only did Walmart have the cheapest turkey, the store also carried the least expensive sides. A pack of gravy was 88 cents while the same pack at Target costed 99 cents. FOX 4 also found mini apple turnovers for $2.97.
The local super Walmart is located on 1619 Del Prado Blvd S Cape Coral FL. It's open 24 hours a day.
